giffgaff eSIM is a digital form of a UK mobile line managed through the giffgaff app. It can carry the same UK number, calls, texts and data as the underlying plan. It is not a standalone international travel-data product, so roaming rules must be checked separately.
The eSIM replaces the physical SIM profile. It does not create a new category of plan or change network coverage, calls, texts, data or renewal.
Existing members should use the account’s official replacement or conversion workflow so the number remains attached correctly.
A new customer can activate an eligible eSIM, while an existing member can replace a physical SIM. Porting from another UK carrier uses the normal account and transfer information.
Complete activation before deleting the old profile or cancelling the previous provider.
UK plan benefits can have one roaming treatment in Europe and another elsewhere. Check fair use, data, calls and texts by destination.
A separate travel eSIM can supply data while giffgaff remains active for the UK number on an unlocked dual-SIM phone.
